About the College

Rayburn College, located at Gangpimual, Lamka of Churachandpur district, Manipur, was established in the year 1994 as a educational institute. Spreading across an area of about 5.5 acres, and located as one of the college instituted at the minority concentrated area of Manipur. Rayburn College as an affiliated College under Manipur University under permission No. MU/1-65/98/cdc/136, dated 7th August, 2012, Imphal, Manipur follows the curriculum prescribed by Manipur University. The Rayburn College has a vision to achieve academic and spiritual excellence. It’s main objective is to bring glory to the Triune God. Accordingly, we strive to Labor, Learn and Serve. The College was named after Dr. Robert G. Rayburn who had inspired the founders of this college towards the need for high quality Christ-centered learning in our country.

Ever since the college affiliation with the Government of Manipur since 7th August 2012, got its recognition by the University Grant Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) @ 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, No.8-29/2015(CCP-I/C), dated, Delhi, 23rd April, 2015. So on account of these recognition and affiliation, the college adheres to various provisions of the UGC, Manipur University and State Government as applicable to the institution, and also undertakes to adhere to changes, if any, from time to time. Also, as an institution under the State Government, the audits for all financial transactions are made and carried out by the cashier of the Rayburn College.

The college functions with the website admin@rayburncollege.ac.in . At present, the Rayburn college offer Bachelor of Arts Degree (General & Honours) by the Manipur University (MU) under Permission No.: MU/2-1/2003(CDC), dated, Imphal, the 5th August, 2003. Bachelor of Commerce by the Manipur University (MU) under permission No. MU/1-68/98/ CDC/303, dated, Imphal, the 19th June 2008. Bachelor of Science and B.A. Psychology as an elective subject by the Manipur University (MU) under permission No. MU/1-65/98/ CDC/675, dated, Imphal, the 27th Nov., 2020. M.A. and M.Com. by the Manipur University (MU) under permission No. MU/1-65/98/CDC/2021.

As per the college record, there are more than 630 registered students (presently from 2020-2021) from different sections of the community. Apart from these BA/Bsc/B.Com programmes, the institute has also been approved recently under the University Grants Commission for offering/conducting skill based job  oriented  degree courses/programmes in 12 (twelve) specialized disciplines namely B. A. (History), B. A (Political Science), B. A (Sociology), B. A (English), B. A (Psychology), B. A (Geography), B. Com, B. Sc (Chemistry), B. Sc (Zoology), B. Sc (Botany), B. Sc (Physics), B. Sc (Mathematics)

The mission of our college is to inspire and innovate the students in every aspect, to deepen and extend knowledge about the formation and utilization of human capabilities. Enhance the commitment of the faculty, staff, and students to the centrality of diversity, social justice, and democratic citizens. Mission

The Mission of the Institute is-

“To educate & train young students on skill development and education having holistic development and global competencies required for employment/self-employment by imbibing a unique value system in the academics and physical environment. Our mandate is to generate, preserve, and share knowledge for developing responsive individuals and professionals.” The college also aims and promotes the rich cultural and social systems for the upliftment of the society among the students and the community where the college is located.

The mission is also focusing on making a potential for Centre of excellence through continuous improvement of the faculties in dissemination of the information acquired and the necessary knowledge towards the student community in particular and society at large.

Significantly, the mission was Accreditation and assessment under the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) with a reasonably high grading.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Principal, HODs, and other Teaching faculty) and Non-Teaching staff

The Principal shall be the Executive head of the College. He shall exercise overall supervisory roles and control over the affairs of the Institution and implement the decisions taken unanimously in various joint meetings of the committees/cells of the Institution. He plays the role of both Academic and administrative .functions and responsibility for ensuring overall quality academic and administrative improvement of the college. He also discharges the function of the DDO of the institution.

Head of department:

Heads of the concerned departments discharge the function of overseeing the Academic administration and transactions of curricular and co-curricular activities of their concern department. Apart from the duty of teaching, HODs are closely involved in various efforts for overall quality enhancement/improvement of the institution. Hence, the role of the HoDs as the line agencies is important and requires commitments, determination and leadership skills as and when needed.
