Geography Department of Rayburn College was established in the year 2012 as a result of fervent effort given by the College administration along with competent pioneering faculties like Lalthalur Infimate, Paukhankhual Tonsing, Khupzakhai Suante, Ngaibiaklun, V. Chinkhenpau and others. Since its inception, the department strives to impart to the undergraduate (UG) students, not only the basic foundation of geography, but the empirical knowledge and application of geography too. The Department of Geography has been performing well in both theory and practical courses including field surveys and research works. Since Geography is more of applied knowledge, the faculties are committed to training the students on the vital relationship between human and environment.

Today, the Department is proud to be equipped with state- of-the art technologies indispensable for training and skill development in geographic applications. As a matter of fact, the department is also planning to introduce post-graduate programme in the near future.

  • To produce cent per cent successful result in all UG semester examinations.
  • To mould the students to be position holders in the university examinations.
  • To train and assist the students in developing their future careers in the field of geography and allied disciplines.
