about covenant children home

Every child, we believe, requires the warmth and security of a family. Established in …The Rayburn Children Home is a one-of-a-kind group home model based on the core concept of ‘L.I.F.E.,’ which stands for ‘Living in Family Environment.’ The Home’s mission is to nurture Out-of-Home Care (O.H.C.) children who are parentless, abandoned, abused, and in need of protection.

Rayburn Children Home is a loving residential home where vulnerable children are cared for in a compassionate family setting. The Home focuses on providing children with a good education, nutritious food, excellent physical and mental health, and numerous growth opportunities.

A dedicated team of caregivers, including ‘Mentor Parents’ who are lifetime volunteers, professional social workers, and other child or mental health care professionals, collaborate to provide the love, protection, and guidance children require to blossom. We’ve put such houses in middle-class neighborhoods to encourage community participation and interaction. Children from the Children’s Home thrive as they become productive and responsible members of society.

Guaranteeing Quality Education

Children at Rayburn Children’s Home have numerous opportunities to advance based on their talents, academic interests, skills, and aptitudes. The Home prepares and enrolls children living in homes in the most appropriate educational and vocational institutions and supports them throughout their enrollment. Children are encouraged to work hard by the Home team. Because of the combined dedication of the children and the caregiving team, our children thrive in school and their vocations.

Fostering Physical and Positive Mental Health

We care for children’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being at Rayburn Children’s Home by addressing their specific health and psychological needs. Children who come to The Rayburn Children’s Home have frequently experienced malnourishment, illness, and unimaginable trauma due to previous exposure to loss, neglect, or abuse. At Home, regular health checks, vaccinations, and a well-researched mental health care setup are in place, supplemented by accessible trauma-informed care. These activities address physical and emotional issues while cultivating psychological resilience in our children, allowing them to grow up feeling loved, understood, and hopeful about the future as they grow into responsible citizens.

Restoration

At Rayburn Children’s Home, we believe it is in the child’s best interests to remain with their biological family as long as their well-being is not jeopardized. We leave no stone unturned in our efforts to return the child to their family as soon as possible. Sometimes, we can reunite the child with their family in a short period. Certain cases, however, may take up to seven years or more. At Home, reintegrating children with their families is an ongoing process.

objectives

Uplifting Vulnerable Children

Through the Children’s Home, we nurture children who lack the protection of their primary caregivers. Our children grow into self-sufficient, socially responsible citizens of tomorrow with access to mentoring, parental guidance, nutritious food, education, extracurricular activities, clothing, and physical and mental health care. Our children’s values motivate them to contribute positively to society when they grow up.

Family ties that bind

A child’s family is their first introduction to the outside world, and children gain skills and learn about value systems from their parents and siblings. Most children who come to the Rayburn Children’s Center have been abandoned by their families. For at-risk children, the program creates a loving and supportive family environment. Living in such an environment reinforces the value of family in children’s hearts and promotes social integration. Knowing they have a family to turn to in times of need increases their sense of belonging, self-worth, and security. Our children and young adults learn to form healthy and safe relationships so they can one day start their own families!

All-rounded Development

Under the long-term care of the Home, a stable environment combined with loving attention, plenty of opportunities, training, camps, and recreational activities promote children’s proper physical and psychological development. We encourage children to develop their natural talents and pursue hobbies, as well as to participate in sports and discover the wonders of creativity through various forms of art. The children of the Home value diversity and belief in mutual respect regardless of socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, economic status, caste, or religion.
