Seminar on "Research Methodology and Dissertation Writing"

Rayburn College, Department of Geography hosted a seminar titled 'Research Methodology and Dissertation Writing' in the department of Geography on 16th March, 2026. The department invited Dr. S. Thangboi Zou, assistant professor, DM University as a resource person. The seminar aimed to equipped M.A. final year students in selecting research topics, research objective, literature etc. The seminar was organized to bridge the gap between theoretical geographical concepts and practical research application.

The seminar was hosted by Miss Siamngaihmuan, Assistant professor,department of Geography which was followed by welcome speech given by Dr. Niangpi Guite, Head of Department, Department of Geography,who emphasized that a strong methodology is the backbone of any credible scientific enquiry.

A total of 80 students and faculty attended with a highly Q&A session after the presentation.
The seminar successful ly demystified the research process for students, moving them from theoretical confusion to practical application.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sir Thangjalen Doungel, Assistant professor, Department of Geography, Rayburn College.
