On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Rayburn College NCC (Army & Air Wing) and the Rayburn College NSS Unit organised a cleanliness drive on 2 October 2026. The programme was conducted to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to promote the values of discipline, social responsibility and community service.
NCC cadets and NSS volunteers actively participated in the programme and carried out sanitation activities within the college campus and along the nearby roads. The participants collected litter, removed waste and attended to areas requiring attention. Their collective efforts helped improve the surroundings and demonstrated a strong spirit of teamwork and voluntary service.
The programme also created awareness among students about responsible waste disposal and the importance of maintaining hygienic public and institutional spaces. The participation of the cadets and volunteers reflected their commitment to serving the community and contributing positively to the environment around them.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment among the participants to maintain responsible habits and contribute to the welfare of the campus and surrounding community. The initiative provided a meaningful way to observe Gandhi Jayanti through active participation and service.
