The Departmental Freshers’ Meet 2026 was conducted on 10 September 2026 with the participation of UG and PG students, faculty members and senior students. A total of 104 participants, including 28 freshers, attended the programme. The programme began with a formal welcome address by Dr. L. Letkhomang Haokip, Head of the Department, who warmly welcomed the freshers and encouraged them to participate actively in the academic and co-curricular activities of the department and college.
The programme provided an informal platform for interaction among freshers, senior students and teachers. Various interactive activities, and entertainment programmes were organised, in which the freshers participated enthusiastically. These activities helped the newly admitted students become acquainted with one another and feel more comfortable in their new academic environment.
The selection of Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher was one of the major highlights of the programme. The freshers participated in various activities that allowed them to demonstrate their confidence, communication skills and talents. Satgougin Haokip was selected as Mr. Fresher, while Themmoichan Chongloi was selected as Miss Fresher. Both were felicitated for their achievement. Another highlight of the Meet was the prayer for students by the College Chaplain and distribution of welcome gift to the freshers.
Refreshments were also served to the participants, and the venue was decorated to create a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere. The programme concluded with prayer and words of appreciation to the faculty members, senior students and freshers for their active participation and cooperation.
Overall, the Freshers’ Meet was a successful programme that warmly welcomed the new students and promoted interaction, friendship and camaraderie among the members of the department.
