The survey was conducted in Singngat village located at 24°8′58″N and 93°35′28″E in Manipur. The area is characterized by hilly terrain, which significantly influences infrastructure development and accessibility to water resources. The primary objective of the survey was to assess infrastructural development with special emphasis on water resources. The survey was undertaken as part of academic fieldwork to understand the living conditions of the people in this rural township.

The field survey was conducted systematically using structured methods and direct interaction with the local population. Information were collected about the general household information, transportation and connectivity, education and health infrastructure, water sources, availability, and quality, and water-related problems and coping strategies. Despite certain limitations, the survey achieved its objectives and contributed to a better understanding of rural infrastructure and water resource challenges. The experience also enhanced practical knowledge and research skills.
