Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) & PM-JANMAN Awareness Program in Rayburn
In line with the Government of India’s mission to empower tribal communities through inclusive development, Rayburn College, Churachandpur, was selected as the IEC Campaign Partner for the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) and Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN). The Campus Awareness Programme was successfully held on 25th June 2025, in coordination with the Tribal Research Institute, Imphal, under the Department of Tribal Affairs and Hills, Government of Manipur.

Spread awareness of central government schemes and benefits for tribal communities.
Encourage active tribal student and youth participation.
Promote leadership, creativity, and community engagement.
Welcome Address & Introduction: A brief overview of the campaign objectives and the importance of tribal empowerment was given by Emmanuel Lalneimawi Hmar, Asst. Professor, Economics Dept.
Presentation by State Team: A comprehensive presentation on DAJGUA and PM-JANMAN, highlighting their benefits, scope, and implementation in tribal regions was done by Thangboi Gangte, ADC/ADM, Churachandpur Dist.
Entertainment: A light entertainment session was held in the form of solo performances given by the well-known Vocalists- Guru Rewben Masangva and James Riamei
Q&A Session: Students engaged with the visiting team, asking questions and sharing insights.
Pledge Ceremony: Faculty and students took the Janjhbagidari Pledge to commit themselves to supporting and promoting government initiatives within their communities. This ceremony was conducted by Phapha Gachui, Former Miss Manipur.
Distribution of IEC Materials: Posters, brochures, and videos were shared to further disseminate information. Student volunteers actively participated in outreach and tagging on social media.
Role of Students and Faculty:
Over 20 student volunteers contributed by coordinating logistics and helping with information dissemination.
Faculty members acted as moderators and mobilized participation across departments.
Impact:
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, reinforcing the college’s role as a socially responsible institution.
It fostered awareness, leadership, and community ownership among tribal youth.
The programme strengthened Rayburn College’s collaboration with the Government and reaffirmed its commitment to tribal welfare and grassroots development.
