Cyber Security Awareness Programme

The Information Technology Department, Rayburn College (Autonomous) successfully organized an Awareness Programme on Cyber Security on 22 October 2025 with the objective of educating students on the importance of cyber safety, responsible digital citizenship, and the protection of personal and organizational information in an increasingly connected world.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members across various departments. The session focused on creating awareness about the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape and equipping participants with practical knowledge to safeguard themselves against cyber risks.

The resource persons delivered informative presentations covering key topics such as cyber hygiene, password security, phishing attacks, social engineering, malware and ransomware, online banking safety, social media privacy, digital footprints, identity theft, cyberbullying, and safe internet practices. Real-life examples and case studies were discussed to help participants understand the consequences of cybercrime and the importance of adopting secure online behaviours.

An interactive question-and-answer session enabled participants to clarify their doubts regarding emerging cyber threats and preventive measures. Students actively engaged in discussions and demonstrated keen interest in learning about cybersecurity tools and best practices for protecting personal data and digital devices.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource persons, faculty members, organizers, and all participants for contributing to the success of the event.
