Day 1 – (Dissertation Writing) 25th June, 2025
Opening remarks and introduction was given by Ma’am Lyna H Misao. She welcomed all participants specifically MA students of both Sociology and Psychology. She introduced the resource person Dr Roluahpuia as an esteem Assistant Professor of Sociology, IIT Roorke with many academic achievements.
The Speaker Dr Roluahpuia began by thanking the organiser and the generous opportunity. He spoke intensely on the importance of dissertation writing and why every academician should master the art of writing. He stressed on the methodology and procedure to follow while conducting research. He mentioned the essence of selecting a research topic based on the sole interest of the researcher while focussing also on the pros and cons of writing dissertation. Emile Durkheim’s book on ‘Suicide’ was taken as the best sociological rule for conducting research.
Interaction and question hour was opened to all participants where doubts and enquiries were clarified by the speaker himself. It was both an educative and fruitful session.
Miss Cyndi Lalhmingmawi made the closing remarks and thanked all the participants and the resource person. The 1st day of the workshop concluded by 12:30pm followed by photo session and a light refreshment.

Day 2 – (Academic Publication) 26th June,2025
Opening remarks was made by Sir Samuel Ngaihte, Registrar, Rayburn College stating an elaborate introduction of the resource person for the day Dr Roluahpuia. He highlighted the workshop topic ‘Academic Publication’ designed especially for the faculties and emphasised on the importance of academic publications both journals and books.
Dr. Roluahpuia mention his gratitude for the privilege and opportunity that Rayburn College has offered. He began the workshop by emphasising the importance of academic publication. The journey of publishing a journal or article usually takes longer than expected. The speaker mentioned many reasons as to why some articles got rejected. Patience, perseverance and authenticity is the key to getting your work published. Every academician should focus on writing as it can enhance skill and expand the professional horizon.
The 2nd day workshop concluded with positive comments from the participants. It proved to be a resourceful and productive interaction. The workshop ended at 12: 40pm with a photo session followed by light refreshment.
