Field Visit BA 4th Semester Department of Geography

Field work conducted by B.A. 4th semester Department of Geography on 24.05.2025 at the ADCC waste disposal site near Sehken village, Churachandpur District, reveals critical environmental issues. The improper managed garbage generates strong foul odors, while the absence of proper drainage on the steep slope creates soil erosion risks. The site's location above paddy fields poses contamination threats as runoff could damage agricultural areas during rainy season. Incomplete waste burning releases harmful pollutants and leaves toxic residues. These combined problems of poor waste organization, inadequate drainage, and improper incineration present significant environmental and health risks requiring immediate remediation measures.
